The Green, Stratford Road, Solihull
Prudential, together with Frontier Estates and Opus Land, two companies backed by Palmer Capital Partners, have acquired the TRW Automotive site in Shirley, Solihull. The purchase price was in excess of £40 million. The site on the A34 Stratford Road includes 180,000 sq ft of office space, along with 25 acres of development land. The occupier of the site, TRW Automotive, has agreed to lease back various buildings under a 17 year lease agreement.
Richard Smith, Director of Opus Land, added:
The TRW site represents a fantastic opportunity for us and will, once again, deliver opportunities, create jobs and boost the local economy. Our plan is to create a prime business park to complement the infrastructure already put in place by TRW.
The acquisition includes eight single and two storey buildings totalling 16,966 sq m (182,626 sq ft) of office and ancillary accommodation along with 25 acres of development land.
The proposed new business park, to be known as "The Green”, is ideally located on a major dual carriageway offering access directly to Junction 4 of the M42, 11 miles from Birmingham City Centre and just a few minutes from Shirley town centre which offers all amenities.
Planning permission has now been granted in May 200 for a 335,000 sq ft new office park, a new Audi showroom and regional centre, hotel and nursing home.
